Burundi - The Rusizi Nature Reserve

Established in 1980, the Rusizi National Park stretched over the provinces of Bubanza and Bujumbura Rural over an area of ​​9,000 ha. Following the development of the territory, the site now covers only 5 932 ha. In January 2000, the Rusizi National Park became the Rusizi Nature Reserve. It comprises 2 sectors: the Palmeraie sector and the Delta sector.
