Congo - Royal Domain of Mbé

Located about 200 kilometers from Brazzaville, in the department of Pool, the royal domain of Mbé constitutes the central link of an ethnolinguistic entity. The Teke Kingdom, known to European explorers since the 15th century under the name of Kingdom of Anzico. The Royal Domain of Mbé is composed of a set of sites related to the culture and history of the Téké people including: The city of Mbé: capital of the kingdom and residence of Makoko (king). She has traveled incessantly throughout history. The precolonial Téké cultural tradition required the displacement of the capital "Mbé" whenever a king died.
