Mexico - Cuetzalan and its Historical, Cultural and Natural Surrounding
Cuetzalan can be described in the context of a micro-region, from where it arises from its surroundings and enriches with the strength of its traditions.
From Yohualichan- the house of the mystery at night-, reaching the highest level of beauty in the classic horizon (600-900 AD) Cuetzalan offers a spectacular mosaic integrating the exuberant semitropical vegetal proposal with its falls and its water sources; it also offers its surprising geological structure, its remote past and its traditions which are recalled, in celebrations and rites surprising and subjugating inhabitants and strangers.
The city is united and integrated to the topographic footpaths, generating a longitudinal plan that allows it to grow with its cross-sectional approaches temples which with coarse popular syncretism generated a strange typology in their architectonic expression.
