Tunisia - Oasis of Gabes

The oasis of the Gabès region is an old traditional coastal oasis which owes its existence to three natural and heritage resources: (i) A soil, generally sandy, which through time has acquired its own characteristic following the use of natural fertilizers. (ii) A gushing water where the deep layers were flush to the surface. (iii) a date palm that forms their parasol that creates their exceptional climate. These three vital resources allowed the creation of a unique and original ecosystem, located in a surrounding desert. The attraction of water and greenery gives this space the characteristics of a refuge and a place of life for many plant and animal species
