Yemen - Balhaf/Burum coastal area

Balhaf, in the middle of the dunes that border the coast, is an oasis with its palm trees, then the white sand gives way to black lava fields to the fishing port of Bir-Ali. Then Qana, one of the major points of the departure from the Route of the Incense, was the great port of the old kingdom of Hadramawt, it is dominated by a hill, Husn al-Ghurab or there remain ancient vestiges. Away is on an extinct volcano, a cratere lake with turquoise waters. The coastal "Corniche" road leads to Burum, which rises at times in the mountains to better dominate the lamer. Burum, a typical fishing port has also had a glorious past, old village surrounded by gypsum ovens to do the quss. Not far, by a spectacular fault we see the large bay of Mukalla. The islands are populated by migrating birds from India or Africa.
